I’m Sarah, and today, we’re going to play a super cool game! Today, we’re going to play a game which I call the intruder word game. The intruder word game is very easy. I’m going to tell you a series of words in which they will all, except one will have something in common. So, there is an intruder word, a word which shouldn’t be on the list. Are you ready? Let’s go! The first round is about animals, and i’m going to say these words: Horse Giraffe Tortoise Squirrel And… dolfin! Which one is the intruder word? The tortoise! Of course! Tortoisers are reptiles and the rest of the animals on the list are mammals. The second round is about landscapes and I’m going to say these words: Mountain Island Peninsula Cape Gulf Which could be the intruder word? Think about it very carefully, because this isn’t easy. The mountain! Did you get it? Look at this diagram. Here, we can see a cape, a gulf, a peninsula, an island and a mountain… Why is it a mountain if they are all part of landscapes? Oh!! Of course! Because the mountain is the only one which doesn’t belong to a coastal landscape, it belongs to interior landscapes. So, let’s go for the third round. Now we’re going to look at natural disaster words. Earthquake Drought Tsunami Contamination Hurricane Contamination, of course. Contamination isn’t a natural disaster, it’s not provoked by nature itself, we humans cause it with smoke, plastics, general waste… It’s also a disaster, but the power to finish it is in our hands.
